To welcome our visitors from Spain, the 4/5 students wrote welcome letters to the students who will be at Parker the week this week.

They also made colorful origami apples for each student as a welcome gift and remembrance of their visit to New York.

While learning more about the legislative branch of government, students participated in a public hearing regarding a bill that has been introduced.
Representative Smith arranged a public hearing to hear the views and opinions of the people who live in her district.  Rep. Smith needs to decide if she should vote for or against a bill that would prevent smoking in public places.

Students represented Representative Smith, Tobacco Growers and Processors, Citizens for Freedom, Citizens for a Smoke-Free Environment, or Citizens for Better Health.
